About Us

Banahaw Creations is a youth-led Filipino food social enterprise rooted in Lucban, Quezon, inspired by everyday Filipino kitchens and the tradition of pamamahaw, making the most out of leftover rice (bahaw). What began as an award-winning undergraduate thesis at the University of the Philippines Los Baños evolved into a purpose-driven venture that blends food innovation, cultural heritage, and social impact.

At the heart of Banahaw Creations is Pangsapaw sa Bahaw, a ready-to-eat fried rice seasoning paste designed to transform plain rice into flavorful, satisfying meals in minutes. The concept responds to real household needs reducing food waste, saving time, and making meals more affordable while celebrating familiar Filipino flavors.

Banahaw Creations gained national recognition through the Provincial, Regional, and National levels of the Young Farmers Challenge of the Department of Agriculture, affirming its potential as a scalable agribusiness. The brand was also awarded Most Innovative Product under the DTI–BPI SEAL-BETA Program, highlighting its strength in product development and market relevance.

Beyond food, Banahaw Creations advocates for sustainability, local sourcing, and inclusive growth by working with farmers and communities. Today, it stands as a testament to how Filipino tradition, research, and innovation can come together, turning simple rice into meaningful nourishment, one spoonful at a time.
